Greenleaf Art Center a Wellspring of Community for 20 years.
In 2010, the Greeneaf Art Center (GAC) celebrates its 20-year anniversary as a home for the arts in Rogers Park. Opened in 1990 by Kathie and Denis Paluch, the center now finds itself a meeting place for many area artists and residents.
GAC (1806 West Greenleaf) provides both studio and exhibition space for a large number of artists, classic and unusual classes open to the general public, and gallery showings and special events for the community. Classes like "Drawing Caricatures" and "Knitters Workshop" show the center's commitment to artists working in all different media.
As a community of artists, the residents of GAC do much more than just teach classes or promote their work. This past summer, members of the GAC family served as judges for the annual Artists of the Wall Festival. And to make sure that the decisions were made fairly, judges pulled their own works.
The Paluchs look forward to 20 more years of operating GAC as a wellspring of community for artists and residents alike. For ore information, call 773-465-4652 or visit www.GreenleafArtCenter.com.
